Davie County High School (DCHS) is a public high school in Mocksville, Davie County, North Carolina, United States. Davie County High School is the sole traditional high school in the Davie County School System; it had an enrollment of 1,784 as of the 2013–2014 academic school year.〔(Davie County Schools Principal's Monthly Report, Month 1, 2013–14 )〕 == History == Davie County High School was built in 1956 on the outskirts of downtown Mocksville, the county seat. Initially called the Rebels, the school later faced controversy and was forced to change mascots. They are now known as the Davie County War Eagles. Two school bond referenda were held, in 2003 and 2007, to provide money for a second new school in the eastern part of the county; however, each of the referenda were rejected by nearly 2-to-1 margins.〔Carolina Journal.
